Hello besties, welcome back to my blog. Today, I will be showing you how to mix and match Ankara prints, and also look good at the same time
To begin with, creativity and fashion go hand in hand, I.e, there’s no limit to creativity when it comes to fashion, your most absurd idea gives the best outfit design.
Safe to say, people aren’t scared to take risks when it comes to fashion, gone are the days of colors to wear, patterns to match, and so on. A lot of fashion rules have been bent, there are new rules, and at the same time, there are no rules in fashion.
The trick to perfectly mixing Ankara prints is to find a balance between the fabric, in terms of color, shape, or pattern, once you find a balance between the fabric, shapes, or pattern to be used and you are good to go.
Furthermore, Mixing different Ankara prints is no fashion crime. And as a strong supporter of free will in fashion, and trying new things in fashion, experimenting with things, I believe you are at liberty to explore and wear whatever you like.
When you do this in such a way that the result is mind-blowing, who are they to say you broke a rule? Besides, rules were created to be broken in the first place? As long as what you create is pleasing to the eyes.
4 Ways to Mix and Match Ankara Prints
1. Mix Related colors:
Like I did in this blog post, I mixed two different prints that have a particularly pronounced color in common. For both fabrics to work together, they must have a common color.
There is a common color in this outfit, which is gold/custard yellow, the background color of both prints. That’s why I mixed the two colors.
As a result, I don’t look clashing even when I’m wearing two prints.
2. Mix Related Prints:
There are Ankara fabrics that have the same or similar patterns, however, they are of different colors. It has already created a relationship between them. So, if you have fabrics like this, go ahead and mix them. They will blend perfectly.
3. Mix and match different Patterns
You can also mix your Ankara prints by matching them based on the sizes of the prints.
For instance, you can combine an Ankara fabric with small prints with another that has big or medium-sized prints. Ankara prints can be mixed to achieve a fusion of diversity, which is the main purpose of mixing different prints.
4. You can as well use the ways mentioned earlier to mix and match more than two Ankara fabrics together.
If the Ankara fabric is multicolored, you can pick more than two colors from the palette of the fabric and mix them to create something stylish.
Finally, when mixing different Ankara prints, ensure the fabrics do not clash with each other. This way, you create something aesthetic and appealing to the eyes.
