Hi besties, welcome back to my blog. Today I’ll be showing you how to wear an Ankara Bubu gown.
For my non-Nigeria readers, Ankara is a fabric that is made by Africans in different colors and patterns while Bubu is also associated with Africans, it is originally worn by Senegalese but now everyone rocks it.
Bubu also spelled (boubou) is a long, loose-fitting, brightly colored gown worn by women. The Boubou dress/Bubu style has the distinct advantage of successfully combining modern and traditional fashion trends.
Safe to say, Africans are trendsetters
As I said earlier, I will be showing you how to wear your Ankara Bubu or boubou gown. But before that, I’ll like to let you other things you probably might not know about Bubu gowns. Bubu gowns can be sewn with any material of your choice, it all depends on you and what you want to achieve.
Also, Bubu dress comes in different styles, just keep in mind that you can never go wrong with a bubu dress, ever, never seen anyone that doesn’t look good in a bubu dress, it’s impossible.
Now, to the real reason we are here, I have owned this fabric since February when my baby cousin graduated from her Arabic school, and as a partial native of ijebu ( a town in Nigeria), our guests had to show up in uniform.
Although I wasn’t around during the party, they had to keep my fabric for me, and I didn’t know the style to sew with it when I got it, but I knew I wanted something comfy, and something I will wear often, so I settled for this bubu gown, which I love by the way
Manifesting my rich aunty era
This gown is so comfy, and it makes you look rich, since I’m already looking rich with my outfit, money is on its way.
I decided to wear my Bubu gown with my gold heels, and a brown bag to complement my whole outfit, making me look ravishing and beautiful.
I hope you love this look and enjoyed reading this blog post as much as I enjoyed writing it. Till next time besties
