Step-by-Step Method: How to Make Cabbage Sauce

1. Parboil the Chicken

Place your chicken in a pot and season with your preferred chicken seasonings, seasoning cubes, and salt. Add a little water and allow the chicken to cook until tender and it releases its own flavorful stock. Remove the chicken from the pot and reserve the stock for your sauce.

2. Fry the Chicken

Heat some vegetable oil in a frying pan and carefully add the cooked chicken. Fry until golden brown and crispy on the outside, then set aside.

3. Prepare the Pepper Base

Add your blended pepper mix to a pot with a little oil and allow it to cook down properly until the raw pepper taste reduces.

4. Add the Chicken Stock

Pour in your reserved chicken stock and stir everything together. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil and let all those savory flavors come together.

5. Add the Cabbage

Once the sauce is boiling, add your chopped cabbage. Stir well to coat the cabbage evenly in the pepper and stock mixture. Cook for about 5 to 10 minutes. The goal is to cook the cabbage without making it completely soft, you want it to retain a nice crunch when you bite into it!

6. Season and Serve

Taste the sauce and adjust with salt or seasoning if necessary (remember your stock is already seasoned). Serve your cabbage sauce hot over steaming white rice with golden fried chicken on the side. Enjoy!
